On a daily basis we all travel to different places such as school, home, church, work and even other countries. Have you ever heard of the term travel service industry? If not, no worries I am here to enlighten you. The travel service industry is a private and public service that provides travel and tourism related services to the public on behalf of the suppliers such as airlines, car rentals and hotels. The modern travel service industry first appeared in the second half of the 19th century, with its roots in 1758 as an establishment of Cox & kings. It is largest established company centering its focusing its business on travel and tourism.

Good day everyone, my name is Shaniqua Lopez. My group members and I will be presenting on the travel service industry. My main focus is question number 2, "What is the size of travel service industry?" based on a research conducted in 2018, the travel service industry worldwide, global GDP in 2018 for eighth years in a row .according to the WTTC, last year travel and tourism 3.9 percent, above global GDP growth of 3.2 percent and contributing a record of $ 8.8 trillion and 319 million jobs to the world economy. Addition to that the WTTC president and CEO Gloria Guevara noted that the travel and tourism industry is forecast to contribute more than 100 million jobs globally over the next 10 years, accounting for 421 million jobs by 2029. So you can see where the travel industry increase over the years and sometimes decrease based on statistics it is seen where an increase in 2018 than 2017. The travel services sector is made up of a complex web of relationships between a variety of suppliers, tourism products, and destination marketing organizations, tour operators, and travel agents, among many others. Under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), travel services comprises businesses and functions that assist with planning and reserving components of the visitor experience (Government of Canada, 2014).

I am kimono Swab and I will be focusing on the question, "what constitutes to travel industry?" Okay, so based on my research, I gathered that these are some of the fundamentals that constitute the travel service industry. These are:
Accommodations - The accommodation sector has seen an increase in its contribution to the travel service industry to the Canadasian gross domestic products and rise employment.
Food and beverages: food and beverage is the most important area that constitutes the travel service industry. It is seen as the largest sector in the travel service industry.
Transportation: the transportation sector make commuting enjoyable, comfort and safe for tourist.

I will be focusing on the question "how does travel service industry relate to the food service industry?" In regards to hospitality in the travel serve industry, food has the greatest impact on tourists. Based on most social media post, it is clear that public interest in food has gradually increase making food tourism a new global trend. Food and tourism helps to promote destination marketing as food is an integral part of the tourism experience. Tourism services support industry development and the delivery of guest experiences, and some of these are missing from the NAICS classification. To ensure you have a complete picture of the tourism industry in BC, this chapter will cover both the NAICS travel services activities and some additional tourism services.
